I'm Engaged!!! <3

Merry Christmas to me! Andy asked me to marry him on Christmas evening! Can you believe it? It's only been seven and half years since we started dating. WOW! lol I'm still in shock, and so afraid to plan anything, because it just seems unreal. :-)

We had plans to travel to Roanoke to visit with his family (like we usually do on Christmas morning). Unfortunately, the weather put a damper on the plans, since it was calling for freezing rain, and we didn't want to chance it. So we stayed in Nelson and had dinner with my brother, sister-in-law, and their children. It was a very nice day, although very dreary because of the rain. Then Andy and I retired to my house for the evening where we went to my room with plans to watch a movie. Since the weather was getting worse, we decided to just hang out for a little bit and enjoy each other, and peace and quiet (hanging out with three rowdy boys all day takes it's toll! ha ha). So we were laying across my bed and Andy said, "I'm sorry that Christmas has been so dismal." I told him that it was just fine, as long as we were together. He then asked if I wanted to be together forever, and I said, of course I did. He then said, "Will you marry me then?" I was so shocked that I said, "Whatever!" It took me a few minutes to realize that he actually meant it!!! So, of course, I said YES!!!

I love this man, more than any other. And I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him and our unborn little one. This Christmas was absolutely the best Christmas!

We have discussed dates, but we haven't set anything in stone. I originally wanted an autumn wedding, but with the timing and all, it probably isn't going to be ideal. So maybe, winter? Who knows. Excitement!!!

Snowed In!

I love snow!!! We haven't had a big snow like this in year's. The last time we measured, it was 24 inches, and still snowing. The snowing quit and has now started again. While I am stranded, I am safe, warm and happy. I love big snows like this. I'm just glad that I don't have to work. I feel badly for the people that have to be at work, and the rescue workers that have to go out in this stuff. I hope everyone is safe. =-)

We went to the doctor on Thursday. We got to hear the heartbeat again, which is still strong at about 150. My quad test came back normal, so no concerns there. We will hopefully find out what we are having January 14th, if the baby cooperates. I sure hope so!! I'm so anxious to make sure that the baby is healthy and see who is in there.

Where Have I Been?

I haven't blogged in quite a while...mainly because I don't think anyone reads it. ha ha I've fallen behind on my picture of the week. But that's mainly because, I'm pregnant! I haven't had the energy to be out shooting pictures as much as I would like to. So, you can see the pictures on Facebook if you look up my name. I don't think I'll post them as much here anymore.

So, yes, I'm pregnant! 18 weeks actually. I cannot believe it! I'm so excited, yet so very scared. This will be my first child, and while I love babies and love being around them, I still have no idea what to do with my own! =-) BUT, I'm all for the ride!

I plan to try to blog a little more. Mostly because a friend of mine just started, and mainly because it would be nice for me to do. Blogging about the new little one is a great idea. And maybe it will be something to share with him or her later.

Picture of the Week

I know that I am behind on adding the picture of the week for 8/16-8/22. I will post it later this week. It's been a hectic week with my edits of my photos. I'm currently adding watermarks to every photo I have uploaded online and then some! It seems that a sneaky little person decided it would be much better to copy my pictures, take my name off them and post them on their site, than to actually pay me for the pictures! So I have decided that I will watermark all of my photos, and then if you feel the need to copy them, you will HAVE to give credit to the photographer. =-)

Fruit of the Vine

Andy and I visited a winery this weekend. Twice. Yes, I said twice. =-) I very much enjoyed their Xoco wine, which is chocolate wine! On the way out of the winery, I snapped this shot of their very tidy vines and instantly, with me, it was a hit! Hope you enjoy!

Taken at the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum in Dulles, VA. I was amazed by the Space Shuttle. Just in awe. The entire day was wonderful, and the planes were awesome.

Seats

I can only imagine people sitting her as they wait for their train to approach the station. Maybe some passengers watched as several trains pass, knowing that their train has yet to arrive. I love the shadow work in this shot.

Vacation Numero Uno!

Excitement! Vacation number one for Andy and I is next week. I'm picking up Jacob, my 12 year old nephew Friday evening and my vacation starts from there! Andy has to work Saturday, so his vacation starts on Sunday. So far we don't have a lot of things planned. We are going to spend the day at the lake Monday, Thursday is the Albemarle County Fair, and then on Friday we are off to Dulles to visit the Udvar Hazy Museum. I guess the other time will be filled in with lounging around the house. We'll probably try to go bowling and maybe even setup the tent for the boys. I do have to babysit Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but Jacob will go with me there, so I won't be but so bored. :-)

Only a little over a month for my second vacation to the beach! Yippee!!

Walton's Mountain Visit

On Saturday, July 18, I visited Walton's Mountain Museum with some of my family. We had a blast! It was a beautiful day. Surprisingly, I have lived in Nelson County for most of my life, and I have never been inside this museum. I've always known where the location was, seen the house that "John Boy" grew up in and of course spent time in the area multiple times. I have just never taken the time to stop and enjoy it. Saturday I did. Above you'll see a picture of my brother, me and my youngest nephew. The second picture is the dam that provided water to the plant in the area.

Above are several more pictures from the visit. We visited the old rock church there. It is breathtaking! The ivy runs all over the church. Unfortunately, there was no way to get a great shot without the power line being involved, but I still think the picture is lovely. The white house is Earl Hamner Jr's home. It was the house depicted in the Walton's television series. I got a picture of a flower too. If you know me, you know that I can't go anywhere without some kind of flower shot. ha ha And the last photo is a piano that was on site at the museum. I just loved the DOF on this shot. Enjoy!!!

Blue Sky
This was taken in downtown Staunton, Virginia. I love the way the blue sky provides a colorful backdrop for this historic building.

RJ & Crystal

I went on a photo shoot this weekend with my nephew RJ and his girlfriend Crystal. These two were SO sappy! ha ha Ahhh, young love. I've posted a few of my shots here (I took about 180!). Of course, in order to get most of the shots, I had to get them to quit kissing all the time! :-) They were fun to hang out and work with, and I think they really like their photos.

The "Un-Sexy" umbrella, as my nephew calls it. He was upset because it had a yellow stripe down the back of it. I loved it! I think the stripe brought some character to this frame.

I love this shot! The look on their faces! They were a little confused at first about how to compose themselves, but t hey got it.

This is the first photo of the day. Too bad the Blue Ridge Parkway was hazy. This picture was taken at the Raven's Roost overlook. It's also one of my favorite spots for pictures. Great session guys!!

Karlyee

There is just something about a little dachshund running straight for you that I love! I caught Karlyee in mid-stride, and couldn't love this picture more! I know the background is not ideal for a "photographic" shot, but sometimes those make the best!

Love

I couldn't resist adding this picture to my picture of the day collection. I'll add more from this photo shoot later. This is RJ & Crystal. I did a photo shoot with them over the weekend and they were too cute!

Iron Fence

Taken at the Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton, VA. I enjoy this park and do many photo shoots on location here. The duck pond is beautiful and they have many bridges and walkways that prove for a great shot.

Purple Bloom

This picture was taken at the JMU Arboretum in Harrisonburg, VA. They have beautiful flowers there. I would recommend to anyone to check on this little garden.

Photo of the Week: 7/5/09 to 7/11/09

I have decided to post a photo of the week (as time permits) and hopefully work up to a photo of the month. So here is this week's photo. I hope you enjoy! This was taken along the street in Lexington, Virginia when Andy and I were visiting for the day. The flowers there were gorgeous!

The 4th of July

Ahhhhh, celebrations! I love this time of year. Spending time with friends and family. Watching fireworks. Stuffing yourself silly. Who could ask for more?! The picture above is from fireworks that we set off Sunday night. I do not usually take pictures of fireworks, because, let's face it, I'm not good at it! But this one turned out really neat.

How was my fourth? Great! I was involved in a family yard sale Friday and Saturday. Then I headed off to a cookout with friends on Saturday night, only to cut the evening short because my nephew had to go to the Emergency Room for a fall! He's doing alright, by the way. Sunday it rained. What a perfect ending to a great weekend! The rain was very relaxing, and we didn't do much of anything all day! We did set off fireworks Sunday night. Loved it!

Back to the daily grind this week. Only three more weeks until I'm on vacation! Yipee!!

Photography

On the photography front, these next few pictures are some of my favorites from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Of course, I'm a little partial. =-) I love taking nature shots. Just being able to be out and about, searching for that great shot is so much of a stress relief that I can barely contain my excitement when I think of it! Photography is my true passion. I could drive around ALL day looking for a great shot!

This shot was taken somewhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I don't know the exact location. I love the focus.

This photo was taken at the "Raven's Roost" overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. What a beautiful view!

This picture was taken overlooking the Nelson County side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. October sunrise. Ahhhhh.

Noah

So, last night while I was babysitting, Noah got this bright idea to play with a bucket that once held blocks. Here is the end result:

Hello!

So, I'm connected to almost every other social networking website, I figured why not creat a blog too?! I do not usually do well with blogs, because I just don't do them! But there are always more stories that I want to tell about my pictures, so I thought I would creat a blog to display and elaborate on them.

A little about me...I'm Waynesa. I'm 28 years old and live in Nelson County, Virginia. I work full time for nTelos in Waynesboro. I also own my own photography company. You can visit us here http://www.waynesacrawfordphoto.8k.com/, or here www.myspace.com/waynesacrawfordphoto, or find us on Facebook! I love to take nature photos, and I also do portraits. I've began to venture into the wedding photos, but I only do those as an "amature" since I don't have a lot of equipment or an assistant. I also babysit for my best friend at nights. While the three boys wear me out, I love them! I own two miniature Dachsunds, Bandit and Karlyee. I'm dating a wonderful man, for seven years! There is lots more to me, but I'll save that for later! =-)
